‘Worked tough to make a comeback’: Sourav Ganguly excited to peer Rishabh Pant again in India squad in advance of 2024 T20 World Cup – News

As the T20 World Cup 2024 approaches, the Indian team will once again be in search of silverware and all eyes will be on the returning Rishabh Pant, who could return to international cricket during the tournament.
The wicketkeeper-batsman has not played an international match since December 2022, which is less than a year and a half since he last represented the country.
His long absence was due to a horrific car accident that sidelined him until March 2024.
None other than Delhi Capitals mentor Sourav Ganguly was excited about his return, who believes Pant has started playing as the cricketer he was before the crash.

“He (DC) has been outstanding for us in the IPL. I was so happy to see him come back as I have always said he is a special player,” Ganguly said at a corporate event.

He once again led the Delhi Capitals and had a stellar season on an individual level, scoring 446 runs at a strike rate of 155.4 and an average of 40.55.
While DC could not make it to the playoffs, the franchise will be motivated by the positive signs shown by Pant on his return to cricket and the Indian team management will be hoping that he can continue his form in the T20 exhibition event.
Ganguly has always backed the 26-year-old to be one of the top talents in the country and appreciated the behind-the-scenes effort behind his comeback and hopes he gets back to his best quickly.
The former India captain concluded, “I have said earlier that he is special.
You don’t want such a talent to be lost for such catastrophic reasons (accident). He has worked really hard to get back to where he is and he is the Rishabh Pant of old.”
