‘Gentleman’ Rahul Dravid gave another high-quality example of his character and decided to release half of the INR 5 million in cash he was due to collect from the R. 125 million pool that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had put in place for the Indian crew that won the T20 World Cup. After Rohit Sharma’s men beat South Africa in the remainder to clinch the title, the BCCI presented {it} a complete Rs. 125 million could be given to the crew, teachers and staff as cash reward. The minimum for head coach Rahul Dravid here was INR 5 million, while opposite coaches in the crew were to get R. 2.5 million.
According to a Hindustan Time report, Dravid has asked the board to reduce his prize money to Rs. 2.5 million also because he didn’t need to get extra money compared to batting,
bowling and fielding coaches.“Rahul needed the identical bonus cash (Rs 2.5 million) as the rest of his support staff (bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, fielding coach T Dilip and batting coach Vikram Rathore). We respect his sentiments,” a BCCI source said. reporting.
I am happy to announce the prize money of INR 125 million to Group India for a successful Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The crew has shown remarkable expertise, will power and sportsmanship throughout the event. Congratulations to all the players, coaches and assistants…

Famously, Dravid took the same stance as the top coach of India’s successful U-19 World Cup crew in 2018. At this point, Dravid was to get INR 50 lakh, while the opposite members of the support staff were to get Rs 20 million each. The players were to earn Rs. 30 million each, according to the scheme. Dravid rejected such bifurcation and forced the BCCI to change the distribution share and reward everyone equally.
The board then released a revised list of cash rewards, which saw each member of the support staff earning INR 25 lakhs along with Dravid.
Dravid has time and again praised his selfless fashion. At the same time as a batsman during his vigorous participation in the days, he put the chase of the crew first. As a coach, Dravid continues to bat for the people he works with.
