The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has cleared all doubts about its top coach with the much-awaited announcement that former cricketer Gautam Gambhir has been appointed as Rahul Dravid’s successor.
The announcement excited cricket fans across the country and showed that the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) coach has performed well in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the last 12 mon
ths.The announcement of Gambhir’s appointment sparked an emotional reaction from his followers and even the former Indian Open winner’s wife Natasha took to social media to share her views.
Gambhir’s wife said in an Instagram story: “He is the right person to lead the Indian workforce.”
Gambhir, who played a memorable knock for India as a left-handed batsman, was the personnel leader of Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League in 2024.
KKR won their third IPL trophy of the season under Gambhir. In a press release issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI),
Gambhir praised Rahul Dravid and his handlers for their “example” with the men in blue. The former Indian cricketer added that he was “honored and excited” to take up the new post.

I congratulate him. In the BCCI statement, Gambhir was quoted as saying about the coaching position of the Indian staff. The 42-year-old added that he will achieve success along with cricket boss VVS Laxman and Co. in the upcoming matches.

Responding to BCCI president Jay Shah’s statement, Gambhir said he was “thrilled” to be a part of this new journey.
