Virat Shines as Rohit Misses: Cricket Run-Out Highlights.

Watch how Virat’s brilliance contrasts Rohit’s miss in this thrilling cricket news highlight. Discover key moments of the run-out effect in this match.

In Sunday’s second One-Day International (ODI) between India and Sri Lanka in Colombo, street smarts Virat Kohli removed the bails at the other end with the batsman short of his crease while trying to look for a second run on an overthrow, setting up a dramatic run-out of Akila Dananjaya after India skipper Rohit Sharma missed hitting the stumps direct.

At the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka chose to bat first a

fter winning the toss, and this was their last ball of the innings.

At mid-off, Rohit was played the ball straight by Jeffrey Vandersay, who then sprinted to swipe a single. At the non-striker’s end, the skipper attempted a direct hit but was unsuccessful.

But when Virat noticed Dananjaya (15) trying to get an overthrow and was well out of his crease, he wisely backed up the toss, ran to the striker’s end, and dislodged the bails.

At one point, the hosts were 136 for 6, but all-rounders Dunith Wellalage (39) and Kamindu Mendis (40) made a strong comeback to lead them to a respectable 240 for 9.

Other important contributors for Sri Lanka were Kusal Mendis (30) and opener Avishka Fernando (40).

India’s run chase got off to a good start with to a 97-run partnership between openers Rohit (64 and Shubman Gill 35). But after taking six wickets at a rate of six for thirty-three, leg-spinner Vandersay turned the tables on the visitors, and India lost all ten wickets for 111 runs.

With the exception of all-rounder Axar Patel’s 44 runs in a ball, none of the Indian hitters could counter Vandersay’s leg-spin, which was ably supported by captain Charith Asalanka’s off-spinners, who claimed three wickets (3 for 20).

India’s only chance to tie the three-match series is to win the last game, which is scheduled for August 7 at the same location, as Sri Lanka presently leads the series 1-0.

Last Friday’s first ODI in the series had finished in a draw.
