Captain Rohit Sharma became enraged during the first ODI match between Sri Lanka and India in Colombo due to a DRS (Decision Review System) error.

The incident happened on the 14th over of Sri Lanka’s innings, on the fourth ball.

Pathum Nissanka failed to collect a ball sent down the leg side by Shivam Dube; instead, it bounced off the thigh pad and found its way to wicketkeeper KL Rahul.

The umpire was not persuaded by the Indian team’ demands for a wicket.

To the surprise of all, the umpire called a wide.

Captain Rohit spoke with Rahul and decided against reviewing.

One of the players informed Rohit that they had heard something when he got back to the field.

“Toh bolna chahi tamlog ko ki baat dur hai ya pad door hai.

Whoever bor raha hai 100% awas aya bat agar door hai.

The distance between the club and the pad must be determined. “I’m saying that if the bat is gone, there will definitely be a sound,” Rohit exclaimed as he left in disbelief.

Afterwards, Rahul stated, “IPL me Wide bach jaata hai na, issi liye bol raha hai wo (In IPL reviews can be considered wide, that’s why he says).”

The opening One-Day International (ODI) of the three-match series saw an exciting tie between India and Sri Lanka on Friday.

After deciding to bat, the fifty, which included Danis Wellarege and Pathum Nissanka, contributed to Sri Lanka’s reasonable 230 for 8 total.

Overall, the outcome was better than the scorecard would indicate because the circumstances were favorable for the slow bowlers.

Seven fours and two sixes were included in Wellarege’s 65 not out off 67 balls.

Out of 75 balls, Nissanka made 56.

Axar Patel, a left-arm orthodox spinner (2/33 in 10 overs), and Kuldeep Yadav, a wrist spinner (1/33 in 10 overs), both displayed strong performances; seamers Shivam Dube, Arshdeep Singh, and Mohammed Siraj each contributed a wicket.

The final 20 overs saw them score 118 runs.

Axar Patel (33) and KL Rahul (31) also contributed to Captain Rohit Sharma’s 58 from 47 balls, but they were unable to win the game.

The two top bowlers for the hosts were Wanindu Hasaranga (3/58) and Charis Asaranka (3/30).
